BeginnerWhat is a crypto exchange?

An exchange like Bitegit matches buyers and sellers so you can convert between fiat currency and crypto assets, or between two crypto assets, at a live market price.

BeginnerSpot vs. P2P: which should I use?

Spot trading fills your order instantly against Bitegit's live order book at the market price. P2P trading connects you directly with another user for a bank-transfer or e-wallet payment, with your counterparty's crypto held safely in escrow until you confirm payment.

BeginnerUnderstanding market vs. limit orders

A market order fills immediately at the best available price. A limit order only fills at the price you set (or better), and may sit on the order book until a matching order appears.

Trading

TradingReading an order book

The order book lists open buy (bid) and sell (ask) orders by price. The gap between the best bid and best ask is the spread — a tighter spread usually means a more liquid market.

TradingMaker vs. taker fees

A "maker" order adds new liquidity to the book (it doesn't fill immediately); a "taker" order removes liquidity by matching an existing order. See the Fee Schedule for current rates.

Security

SecurityWhy enable 2FA?

Two-factor authentication means a stolen password alone isn't enough to access your account — a second, time-limited code is required for login and for sensitive actions like withdrawals.

SecuritySpotting phishing attempts

Bitegit will never ask for your password or 2FA code over chat, email, or phone. Always check you're on the official Bitegit domain before entering credentials — see Verify Official Channels.

P2P trading

P2PHow escrow protects your trade

When a P2P order is opened, the seller's crypto is locked automatically. It's only released to the buyer once payment is confirmed — or a dispute is resolved by the Bitegit support team.

P2PWhat to do if a trade goes wrong

Message your counterparty in the order chat first. If it isn't resolved, open a dispute from the order screen and our team will review the evidence from both sides.
